The young boy to the right of this picture is the 15 year old Deck Boy Frank Walker,
PoW No.87343 from the ship SS Automedon, 7,528grt, (A.Holt & Co.)
Sunk by the raider Atlantis on the 11th November 1940.
The photo was taken in the Sandbostel Concentration Camp where Merchant Navy PoW's were held up until 1942.
He is dressed in British Army battle dress taken from the dead at Dunkirk.
Frank spent four and half years as a PoW and was found at the Milag Nord camp and liberated on the 28th April 1945.
